FlashForge Flexible is made of high quality material. Flexible filament, also known as TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) filament, is a type of 3D printing filament that has high flexibility and elasticity. It is designed to produce objects that can bend, twist and stretch without permanently breaking or deforming. Flexible filaments offer unique properties that allow the creation of functional designs.

Flexible filaments are usually composed of a blend of thermoplastic polymers such as TPE or TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane). These materials combine the properties of rubber and plastic to provide flexibility and durability.

Flexible filaments provide designs with a soft and rubbery texture. They can be stretched, squeezed and bent and will return to their original shape when released. Their elasticity makes them suitable for a wide range of applications, including wearable devices, handles, seals, shock absorbers, orthopaedic models and toys.

3D printing with flexible filaments has certain specific requirements to achieve successful results. Direct-drive extruders are recommended to ensure smooth feeding of the filament without excessive bending. Adjusting 3D printing settings such as lower print speeds, increased layer heights and lower print temperatures can also help optimise 3D printing quality.
