FlashForge HIPS (High Impact Polystyrene) is commonly used for 3D printing of supports, where it is printed in addition to the primary material of which the final model is made (ABS or nylon (PA)). It can be easily dissolved in limonene, a solvent that does not affect the virgin material, making it suitable for post-treatment.
HIPS is compatible with most desktop 3D printers with a heated working mat. It offers excellent impact strength, making it suitable for parts subjected to mechanical stress. It provides an extremely smooth surface, making it suitable for models or prototypes that require a polished look.
