FlashForge PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) is commonly used for 3D printing of supports, where it is printed alongside the primary material of which the final model is made (PLA, PETG or TPU). PVA filament has the characteristic of being water soluble, so you just put the 3D printed model in water and overnight the supports can disappear, leaving you with a perfect model.
PVA is a biodegradable polymer, which means that it can be broken down by natural processes over time. This makes it an environmentally friendly option compared to non-biodegradable materials.
PVA filament ensures a good adhesion of the layers, which is essential for making strong and durable models. This feature ensures that the support structures adhere well to the main part of the model.
PVA is mainly used as a support material for 3D printing with PLA, PETG or TPU, rather than as a stand-alone filament for 3D printing complete models, as it dissolves quickly. It is compatible with virtually all dual extruder 3D printers as it has a low melting point.
