POINTMASTER SOFTWARE
FROM POINT CLOUDS TO TRIANGLES
The software allows you to enter point clouds. This point cloud needs to be meshed (triangulated). The triangles are then used to create surfaces that can be easily applied to the desired areas.
We can generate surfaces on the fly and also compare the accuracy of the surface against the mesh model. This data is then checked and exported as a CAD model for further processing.
REPAIRING THE NET
Triangular nets or. models in STL formats also need to be corrected. Sometimes there are holes in the grid that need to be filled and PointMaster allows us to do this easily.
Advanced features can smooth the edges of the hole to make them smoother, resulting in a smooth transition between triangles.
We can also re-generate the grid in the desired area to smooth out rough triangles.
SURFACE FABRICATION - REVERSE ENGINEERING
The software allows us to easily place boundary curves on the grid and thus build surfaces throughout the model.
The joints between surfaces are always tangents, which can be verified at any time by various analyses such as curvature analysis and the distance of the surfaces from the actual grid.
At the end of the reverse engineering, we export the surfaces to an IGS file, which is then transferred to the ThinkDesign CAD modeller, where we can perform classical modelling operations on the model.
