MakerBot Labs Gen 2 Method Experimental Extruder
The MakerBot Labs Gen 2 Method Experimental Extruder is a special extruder designed for use with MakerBot Method models. It enables 3D printing up to 300°C.
Supports the use of third-party filaments: the Labs Gen 2 Method Experimental Extruder is compatible with a wide range of third-party materials. While it is technically possible to use any material with the Labs Extruder, MakerBot has worked with and certified filaments from several leading 3D printing materials companies such as:
- KIMYA ABS Carbon Fiber: ABS composite material with 30% carbon fiber for improved stiffness and reduced weight.
- JABIL PETG ESD: Electrostatic dissipation (ESD) filament. It is designed for 3D printing parts that could be damaged by electrostatic discharge. It is also easy to work with.
- Mitsubishi Chemical: a natural material that combines the transparency of PMMA with greater chemical and scratch resistance compared to polycarbonate (PC).
- Polymaker PolyMax PC-FR: Refractory polycarbonate (PC) filament (UL94V-0/1.5 mm) showing excellent toughness, strength and heat resistance.
